James P. "Sig" Acri


James P. "Sig" Acri, 68, of Steelton died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at his daughter's home.

He was a retired steelworker for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Steelton, a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, a former member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, a coach in the Harrisburg East Midget Baseball League for 25 years, a member of the Steelton Italian Club and a volunteer at St. Catherine's School Cafeteria.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Acri, was the widower of Linda J. Hendricks Acri and is survived by; one daughter, Susan H. Zitto and her husband Mark, Susquehanna Twp., one son, Thomas W. Acri and his wife Pam, Harrisburg, two brothers Ronald and Tom Acri both of Steelton, eight grandchildren; Alaina, Kara, Ali, Maddie, Dominic, Lia, Jack, and Isabelle, and one great granddaughter, Layla.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in the Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 South Second Street, Steelton, with the Rev. James M. Lyons as Celebrant. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the church. An additional Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2008 in Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.
