George B. Gassert, 58, of Steelton, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.

He was a retired machine operator for Hershey Chocolate Factory and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton.

He is survived by one son, Danny C. Gassert of Susquehanna Twp.; two daughters, Danielle Horanic and her husband, Ken of Dauphin and Dena Gassert of Susquehanna Twp.; his mother, Eizabeth M. Porco Gassert of Steelton; two sisters, Jean L. Barr of Steelton and Gloria A. Leach of Bainbridge; 6 grandchildren, Stephen, Ryan, Devon, Kendra, Justin and Nicole; several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his father, George F. Gassert and a great niece, Angel Lighty.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St., Steelton with Rev. James M. Lyons, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held on Monday from 9:30 until 11:00 am in the funeral home.
