Russell C. Heilman


Russell C. Heilman, 56, of Oberlin, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in Harrisburg Hospital ER.

He was a retired building contractor, a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1969 until 1972, and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Oberlin.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn E. Toth Heilman; two sons, Craig Russell Heilman of Mt. Aetna and David Miller Heilman of Lebanon; one daughter, Dana N. Shuttlesworth of Dauphin; his mother, Kathryn “Cass” Jajich of Rutherford; three brothers, David R. Heilman of Steelton, Michael E. Heilman of West Hanover Twp. and Joseph J. Jajich of Hummelstown; one sister, Rebecca S. Quade of Steelton; one grandson, Michael R. Brown; one great granddaughter, Haelee Ann Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 12 Noon in St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, 601 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin, with Very Rev. Stavrofor Srboljub Jockovich, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10:30 am until 12 Noon in his church. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.
