Joan E. Scott Hower, age 77, of Harrisburg, died Friday, February 22, 2008, in the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.

She was a retired office secretary for Cleveland Brothers Equipment Company, and a member of the Twenty-Ninth Street United Methodist Church, both of Harrisburg.

Joan was the widow of William M. Hower and is survived by three sons, W. Scott Hower and his wife, Amy J., Shannon Hower and his wife, Pam, both of Harrisburg, and Steven B. Hower and his wife, Lisa of New Cumberland; one daughter, Susan M. Hower Zapcic and her husband, Donald of Harrisburg; one step-son, Richard Hower of Harrisburg; one sister, Margaret Zeplin of New Cumberland; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 11 a.m., in the Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, 23rd and Derry Streets, Harrisburg, with the Rev. H. Raymond Brooks, her pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:30-11 a.m., in the funeral home.
