Conrad E. Kambic


Conrad E. Kambic, 76, of Steelton, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in Holy Spirit Hospital.

He was a retired mechanical engineer, partner and CEO for Brinjac-Kambic Associates, Harrisburg. He was a graduate of Harrisburg Catholic High School, attended York College, an Army veteran of the Korean War, and was a former member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Steelton, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Scout Master and Chairman of the Renovation Committee and the Blood Bank. He was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church and its Knights of Columbus Council 12811, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg Building and Planning Board, Serra Club, Steelton Lions Club, Professional Engineers Society, Swatara Township Planning Commission, Commonwealth of PA Board of Claims and St. Aloysius Lodge No. 42, KSKJ.

Connie was the son of the late Louis and Genevieve (Simonic) Kambic and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joanne M. Kopanoff Kambic; two sons, Dr. Daniel M. Kambic and his wife, Anna Marie of Lower Paxton Twp. and Jerome E. Kambic and his wife, Cynthia M. of Lawnton; six grandchildren, Danielle, Thomas, Justin, Michael, Carly and Jessica Kambic; his daughter-in-law, Cynthia A. Kambic Young and her husband, Captain David F. Young, PA State Police. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey J. Kambic.

Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 12 Noon in St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church with Rev. David M. Hereshko and Rev. Msgr. Hugh A. Overbaugh, as concelebrants. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 10:30 am until 12:00 noon in his church. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.
