Robert F. Kauffman, age 89, of Swatara Twp., died Saturday, January 26, 2008 in the Colonial Park Care Center.

He was a retired engineer for the former Bell Telephone Company of PA, Harrisburg; a member of the Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, where he taught Sunday School for more than 40 years; he was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Lawnton American Legion Post 998.

Robert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jeanne Hoffmeier Kauffman; two sons, Donald R. Kauffman, Reading and Richard W. Kauffman, Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, 23rd and Derry Streets, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Rochelle E. Lewis, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shoop's Cemetery, Lower Paxton Twp. on Friday, February 1, 2008, at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
