John A. Koser


John A. Koser, Sr., 89, of Lower Paxton Township, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 in Colonial Park Care Center.

He was a former employee of Bethlehem Steel Corporation, a retired Parts Polisher at TRW, Harrisburg, an Army veteran of World War II serving in the 209th Signal Pigeon Company in North Africa, Italy and Southern France. He was a former member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Steelton and a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, Lawnton American Legion Post 998, TRW Pioneers, CCC Assn. and a life member of Steelton VFW Post 710 and Disabled American Veterans.

John was the son of the late Joseph and Katherine Verbanec Kosir and is survived by his wife, Theresa Gould Koser; one son, John A. Koser, Jr., at home; and one sister, Ann Yanchuleff of Palmyra. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony, Rudolph, Joseph and Frederick Koser and four sisters, Catherine Cope, Elizabeth Kocevar, Margaret Miller and Mary Ann Kosir.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 11:00 am in St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Pang Tcheou, as celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 am in his church. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA 17111 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
