He was a retired employee of the Commonwealth of PA and a former employee of Olmsted Air Force Base, Middletown and an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton, VFW Post 710 and American Legion Post 594.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Louisa LaCava and the widower of Helen Benkovic LaCava. He is survived by a daughter, Natalie A. Leh of Middletown; a son, James J. LaCava, Jr. of Tampa, FL and several other family members.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St., Steelton with Rev. James M. Lyons, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 am in the funeral home.
