Frederic B. Shipley, 78, of Chambers Hill, died Sunday, May 18, 2008 in his home.

He was the retired owner and operator of Shipley Plumbing & Heating Co., Steelton.

Fred was born June 21, 1929 in Steelton, son of the late R. Davis Shipley and Catherine Bogar Shipley, and is survived by his wife of 49 years, Melva A. McKee Shipley; three sons, Randall Shipley and his wife, Lisa of Palmyra, NJ, David A. Shipley of Harrisburg, and Gregory S. Shipley and his wife, Karen of Harrisburg; a sister, Nancy Warmuth of Brentwood, WV; four grandchildren, Amanda, Jamie, Joshua and Samantha. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Shipley.

Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11:00 am in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp. with Rev. Paul W. Kauffman officiating. Viewing will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.
