Alfred L. "Larry" Slack, Jr., age 77, of Harrisburg , died Friday, February 22, 2008, in the Golden Living Center- West Shore .
He was a retired truck driver for the Yellow Freight System and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served on General MacArthur's Honor Guard Detail. He was a member of William S. Snyder Lodge #756, F. & A.M., Harrisburg Council #7 R.&S.M.M., Harrisburg Consistory Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest #43, Perseverance Royal Arch Chapter #21, and Capital Area Scottish Rite Club.
He was preceded in death by his son, Alfred L. Slack III, and is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pearl I. Tiffany Slack; two daughters, Donna Kenamond, Williamsport , and Deborah Duryea, Allentown ; one step-son, Donald E. Whitmire, Jr., Etters; one step-daughter, Sherry Raback, Lewisberry; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Private burial will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery , East Hanover Twp., at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements by Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, Harrisburg .
