Harry E. Snyder Jr., 90, of Harrisburg, died peacefully, surrounded by family and his dog, Toby, on Friday May 9, 2008 in the Community General Osteopathic Hospital. Harry was a retired Gang Foreman for the former Pennsylvania and PA NY Central Railroads. He was a retired Major in the U.S. Air Force serving in WWII, a graduate of the former William Penn High School class of 1936. He was a member of; the Rockville United Methodist Church, Perseverance Lodge #21 F. & A.M., Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Luncheon Club and the Harrisburg Shrine Club. Harry also enjoyed model railroading and spending time with his family at the river cottage. He was the widower of Blanche L. Eisenacher Snyder and was preceded in death by; a brother, Charles E. Snyder and three sisters; Hazel Snyder, Harriet Stahl, and Nellie Bamberger. He is survived by; a daughter, Virginia Ann and husband Charles E. Berry, Harrisburg, two sons; Charles H. and wife Nancy Snyder, Pennsdale PA, and Harry E. Snyder III, with whom he lived, two grandsons; Charles H. Snyder Jr., Muncy PA and Martin C. Snyder, Allentown, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in the Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home 23rd and Derry Sts Harrisburg, with the Rev Eugene Liddick, officiating. Burial in Rolling Green Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home. In lieu
