Mirjana Knezevic Tolmachev


Mirjana Knezevic Tolmachev, 89, of 1502 Knollcrest Road, Lower Paxton Twp., died Wednesday, January 16, 2008 in her home.

Mirjana did her undergraduate work at the College of Economics at the University of Belgrade and obtained her Masters Degree in Library Science from Drexel University, Philadelphia. She retired as a Director of the Commonwealth of PA State Library.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Oberlin and its Circle of Serbian Sisters, St. Nicholas Seniors and the Serbian American Club. She was also a member of the American Assn. of University Women, Harrisburg branch.

She was the widow of Nikola F. Tolmachev and is survived by one daughter, Lila T. Packer, with whom she resided; one sister, Olga Knezevic of Belgrade, Serbia; one grandson, Damian T. Packer and his wife, Cathy DeYoung of Hopkinton, MA; one great grandson, Evan Packer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 10:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St., Steelton, with further services at 11:00 am in St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Oberlin with Very Rev. Stavrofor Srboljub Jockovich, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 2 until 4:00 pm and on Monday from 10 until 10:30 am in the funeral home. Pomen will be offered on Sunday at 3:00 pm.
