Joan C. Salinger Westenberger


Joan C. Salinger Westenberger, 67, of New Cumberland, died Friday, April 25, 2008 in Harrisburg Hospital.

She was a retired employee of New Cumberland Army Depot, a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School Class of 1958, a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish and an avid Notre Dame fan.

Joan was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Stojkovich Salinger and is survived by her husband, Harry L. Westenberger and her loyal companion, “Bunny”; a brother, Frank Salinger of Camp Hill; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Catherine Westenberger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church with Rev. James M. Lyons, her pastor and Rev. Samuel E. Houser, as concelebrants. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St., Steelton.
