William Amos Ward, 68, passed away the morning of Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at his home in Steelton, surrounded in love by family and friends.
He was born on June 9, 1949 in Steelton, attended Steelton schools until his Senior year, and graduated from William Penn Senior High in 1967. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and ended his career as an E7, served as a Police Officer for Naval Support Activity, Mechanicsburg, and retired from policing and Emergency Medical Dispatch for DLA Defense Distribution Depot Susquehanna, PA.
William is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bonnie Stickle Ward; his mother, Nancy J. Strickler Ward; sister, Sherry Ward Choate of Elma, WA; brother, Ernie Ward of Lamar, AR; his daughter, Christina Ward Grunden and husband, Timothy of Elgin, OK; his son, John Ward and wife, Kylie of Lawton, OK; his stepson, Christopher Stickle and wife, Charity Eakright; daughter, Ashley Ward McMullen and husband, Terry of Steelton; and 22 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 am in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 221 S. Second St., Steelton with Rev. Victoria Larsen officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.
