Mildred “Millie” Gross, 89, of Palmstown Manor, Palmyra, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 in the Manor. She was a first time Colon Cancer Survivor, but succumbed to Pancreatic Cancer as well as progressive Alzheimer’s Disease.
She was the daughter of the late Michael and Mildred Cerkovnik of Greensburg, PA. Millie was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Joseph J. Bayura and is survived by her daughter, Deborah L. Bayura, Middletown, granddaughter Christina M. Bayura and husband Steve D. Kriczky, Palmyra.
She retired from AMP, Inc. Harrisburg and was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, Monroeville, PA. She was a volunteer for St. Catherine Laboure School and a member of the Volunteers In Action for East Park Gardens and also a member of AMPRA (AMP Retiree Association).
Millie was an independent woman, she put her heart and soul into caring for those she loved. She modeled this independence as a true matriarch to Debbie and Christina, who will miss her tremendously.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11:00am in Saint Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, 601 South Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, with the Rev. Christopher S. Rocknage, Pastor, Officiating. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:00am-11:00am in the Church. Burial will be at Hillview Cemetery, Greensburg, PA on Thursday, December 28, 2017.
