Edward Sinkovitz,97, of West Hanover Twp., passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018 at home.
He was born August 6, 1920 in Harrisburg, son of the late Alexander and Catherine (Brunner) Sinkovitz.
Edward as an Electrician in Harrisburg for many years. He was an avid gardener and tinkerer. He was a former member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Steelton and a member of Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Lower Paxton Twp. Edward was a veteran of World War II and served honorably in the US Army Air Corps in the Pacific theatre.
Edward had five brothers, Alexander, John, Joseph, Stephen and George; and two sisters, Mary and Catherine, who all preceded him in death. Edward was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Josephine Marie Mettler on May 25, 2002. Edward is survived by their two sons, Edward C. Sinkovitz and Francis (Betty) Sinkovitz and daughter, Mary Kay (David) Wickenheiser, all of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00 am in Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church with Rev Michael G. Metzgar, as Celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in his church.. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.
