Whether you have come to us at a time of great need, to prearrange a funeral or even to explore the available services we offer...for generations, we have served all faiths with professionalism and kindness – and we continue this tradition of service today.
We provide traditional funeral services, cremation services, memorial services and graveside services, local and long distance services are also available.
We offer a complete range of services for both pre-need and at-need arrangements and a grief follow-up program. To meet our community’s needs, we also have two locations – Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Steelton, Pennsylvania.
Services We Offer
Traditional Funeral Services
Traditional services normally include a viewing with the body present on the evening before or day of funeral services. Mass, Funeral Services or Life Celebration Ceremonies are held.
Cremation with Funeral Service
Cremation with Funeral Service is similar to the traditional service except that after the services are completed, the body is then cremated.
Cremation with Memorial Service
Cremation with Memorial Service is when the deceased is cremated and a memorial service is held either in the funeral home, place of worship, or other location with the cremated remains present.
Cremation with Graveside Service
Cremation with Graveside Services is when the deceased is cremated and services are held at a gravesite with family and friends present.
Deceased is cremated and cremated remains are returned to the family. There are no services or interment.
In addition, our staff assists with the completion of all necessary forms including death certificates, insurance, notification of death, veteran’s benefits, social security, etc.
Out of Town Services
If your loved one resided out of the area, or needs to be transferred to another city or state, we will coordinate with a funeral home in that location to make all necessary arrangements.
Our Steelton location was founded in 1937 by Joseph A. Wiedeman. Joseph A. Wiedeman was joined in the business by his son, Dennis L. Wiedeman, in 1968. In 2007, Lisa M. Wiedeman, Dennis’ daughter, also became a licensed funeral director, making the funeral home one of three generations of service.
Our Harrisburg location is one of the oldest funeral homes in Dauphin County and was founded by Jacob Fackler in 1865. It has served the Harrisburg area for over 148 years. Click here to view a presentation on the history of the Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home. The succeeding three generations of funeral directors have been: Ezrah, Samuel, Richard and Robert Fackler. In 1983, Wiedeman Funeral Home, Inc. acquired Fackler Funeral Home and formed Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home.
In today’s rapidly changing world, we are proud that we continue to be family owned and operated. Large conglomerate corporations continue to purchase funeral homes. At the Wiedeman Funeral Home, Inc. and Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, we continue to provide quality, dignified services to our families. We treat your family is if they were part of our own.
