Adam Frye

Adam Joseph Frye, 87, of Harrisburg, passed away surrounded by family at UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Born in Steelton, he was the son of the late Adam E. and Tina (Kvanka) Frye. He was the loving husband of Linda A. (Swartz) Frye, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.

Adam graduated from Catholic High School with the class of 1954. He went on to join the US Marine Corps during the Korean War and earned the rank of Seargent. Upon returning, he worked for UPS as a truck driver for 38 years until his retirement. He was an active member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Linda, Adam is survived by his daughters, Pamela Hower and her husband Shannon, and Kathleen James and her husband Barry, both of Lower Paxton Township; his grandchildren Adam Hower (his wife, Kimberly), and Kimberly Hower; his great-grandson Theodore Hower; and his sister Cecilia Fortenbaugh.

Family and friends will be received at Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113 on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take follow at St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111 on Tuesday November 28, 2023 at 11:30 AM. Committal will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation at www.marineheritage.org
