Benjamin Cruz Acosta 33, of Harrisburg entered into eternal rest on Saturday April 03, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at home.

He was born on June 23, 1987 to the late J. Guadalupe Cruz Martinez and Maclovia Acosta Perez and she survives.

Benjamin was born in Rincón de Pitzquintla, Jalpan de Serra, Queretaro, Mexico. There he attended Escuela Secundaria Justo Sierra in Ahuacatlan de Guadalupe. In recent years he worked as a cook at Promenade Family Restaurant. He was an avid soccer fan who enjoyed watching Futbol Club Barcelona. Ben will always be remembered for his loyal and devoted nature, his great laugh, and sense of humor. He faced these last few years with a strength, bravery, and determination that we should all aspire to.

He is survived by his mother Maclovia Acosta Perez as well as his brothers and sisters: Guadalupe Cruz Acosta, Hermelinda Cruz Acosta, Arturo Cruz Acosta, Herminia Cruz Acosta, Silvia Cruz Acosta, Salvador Cruz Acosta, Geronimo Cruz Acosta, Armando Cruz Acosta, and Pablo Cruz Acosta. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Benjamin is preceded in death by his father J. Guadalupe Cruz Martinez and his siblings: Yolanda Cruz Acosta, Arturo Cruz Acosta, and Herminia Cruz Acosta.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 9th, 2021 at 12:00 pm in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 1439 Market St. Harrisburg, with the Rev. Orlando Reyes, Officiating. A Viewing will be held on Friday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in the church. Burial will be held at a later date in his hometown cemetery, in Mexico. Current Commonwealth of PA COVID-19 restrictions will be enforced, masks and social distancing will be required.

Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin.

A reception will be held at the family home in Harrisburg after the conclusion of the Mass on Friday.

Nació el 23 de junio de 1987 de los difuntos J. Guadalupe Cruz Martínez y Maclovia Acosta Pérez y ella sobrevive.

Benjamín nació en Rincón de Pitzquintla, Jalpan de Serra, Querétaro, México. Allí asistió a la Escuela Secundaria Justo Sierra en Ahuacatlán de Guadalupe. En los últimos años trabajó como cocinero en Promenade Family Restaurant. Era un ávido aficionado al fútbol que disfrutaba viendo Futbol Club Barcelona. Ben siempre será recordado por su naturaleza leal y devota, su gran risa y su sentido del humor. Afrontó estos últimos años con una fuerza, valentía y determinación a la que todos deberíamos aspirar.

Le sobreviven su madre Maclovia Acosta Pérez, así como sus hermanos y hermanas: Guadalupe Cruz Acosta, Hermelinda Cruz Acosta, Arturo Cruz Acosta, Herminia Cruz Acosta, Silvia Cruz Acosta, Salvador Cruz Acosta, Geronimo Cruz Acosta, Armando Cruz Acosta, y Pablo Cruz Acosta. También le sobreviven muchas tías, tíos, primos, sobrinas y sobrinos. Benjamín es precedido en la muerte por su padre J. Guadalupe Cruz Martínez y sus hermanos: Yolanda Cruz Acosta, Arturo Cruz Acosta y Herminia Cruz Acosta.

La misa de entierro cristiano se llevará a cabo el viernes 9 de abril de 2021 a las 12:00 pm en la iglesia católica romana de San Francisco de Asís, 1439 Market St. Harrisburg, con el reverendo Orlando Reyes, oficiando. Se llevará a cabo un visionado el viernes de 11:00 am a 12:00 pm en la iglesia. El entierro se llevará a cabo en una fecha posterior en el cementerio de su ciudad natal, en México. Se harán cumplir las restricciones actuales de la Commonwealth of PA Covid-19, se requerirán máscaras y distanciamiento social. Los arreglos están a cargo de Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin.

Se llevará a cabo una recepción en la casa de la familia en Harrisburg después de la conclusión de la misa el viernes.
