Bernadette Ward

Bernadette J. Chambers Ward, 83, of Swatara Township, died Saturday, November 4, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was a retired employee of Commonwealth of PA - Dept. of General Services; and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton.

Bernie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel Welch Chambers and the widow of Donald R. Ward and is survived by her son, Donald Ward and wife, Lona, Eschol, PA; six grandchildren, Dakota Ward, Shyanne Ward, Brandon Ward, Nykkia Benkovic, Mindy Hrestak and Jill Yurcic, her caregiver; 5 great-grandchildren including Jordan, Madison and Zoe; sister, Frances Pugh, Shermansdale; companion of 34 years, Stephen J. Gustin (Honeyboy). She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Lupacchini and two sons, Robin and Keith Ward.

Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 10:30 am in Shoops Cemetery, 4332 Lexington Street, Harrisburg, with Rev. Steven J. Arena, Pastor, Officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
