Calvin Roy "Pepper" Yarnell, 86, of Lower Paxton Twp., died Monday, August 22, 2022 in UPMC - Community General Hospital.
He was retired from Communications for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania - Department of Transportation and also was retired from the PA Air National Guard. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. "Pepper" was a member of the Linglestown American Legion; East League, Midget Baseball of Harrisburg; Hershey Italian Lodge; served as an Usher at Hershey Entertainment - Giant Center events and volunteered his time for Holy Family Roman Catholic Church helping with Bingo and in the Kitchen.
He was the son of the late Roy E. Yarnell and Faye Kahler Yarnell and is survived by his wife, Marcia A. Barbush Yarnell, Harrisburg; three daughters, Stacy A. and husband David Barner, Enola; Sharon L. Minnaugh and husband Philip, Harrisburg; DeeAnna L. Ford and husband Daniel, Harrisburg; one son, Mark A. Yarnell and wife Nancy, Elgin, IL; stepdaughter, Kelley A. Fisher, Harrisburg; stepson, Brian W. Fisher and wife Crystal, Lewisberry; 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra L. Markel and Karen S. Early and husband John, both of Baltimore, MD. He was preceded in death by his first wife, MaryAnn Montressor Yarnell and his step-mother, Betty E. Caton Yarnell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 11:30 am in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Neil S. Sullivan, Celebrant. Burial will be on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 1:30 pm in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery (persons attending the burial should proceed directly to the Cemetery by 1:15 pm). A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 am - 11:30 am in the church. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Oberlin.
