Catherine Rose Kruseski, 80, died Monday, September 19, 2022.
Cathy Kruseski passed away after battling Alzheimer''s for many years. She was a caring and generous person who loved her family, friends, and community. She grew up in Steelton, PA, and lived in Harrisburg most of her life. She lived in Wilmington, Delaware with her sister Andrea for the past several years. Cathy was trained as a nurse, respected by her staff, and cared for 1000''s of patients with mental illness. She lovingly cared for her mother and father when they needed her help. She was generous with family and friends. Cathy loved her Croatian heritage, the community at St. Mary''s of the Assumption Church, tailgating at Penn State Football games and singing with the St. Lawrence Tamburitzans, collecting antique Santas and dolls, and most of all, she loved her large family from across the country and her lifelong friends around Harrisburg. In return, Cathy was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Cathy was a graduate of St. Mary of the Assumption School, Steelton, PA, Bishop McDevitt, Harrisburg, PA and Mount Mercy College (now Carlow College) where she received her BS in Nursing and was a member of ROTC. She served as an Officer in US Navy and earned the rank of First Lieutenant. She was the Administrator/Director of Care at Pennsylvania State Hospital System and retired after over 35 years. She was a lifelong member of Prince of Peace Parish in Steelton, Pa., and a member of the St. Lawrence Club, and Women in Moose Chapter 919.
Cathy was the daughter of the late Catherine Krizmanic Kruseski and Andrew J. Kruseski. She is predeceased by her sister, Maryanne Boucek. She is survived by her sister, Andrea Rotsch, and her husband George and her brother-in-law Thomas Boucek, six nieces and nephews, Tania (Jim) Collins, Nicole (Scott) Gemberling, Mara (Bud) Frank, Gary, Jack, and Will Rotsch. Her great nieces and nephews, Andrew (Eliza), Grace and Julia Collins, Nicholas Gemberling, Katie (Nick) Bast, and A.J. and Tommy Frank, as well as many cousins whom she loved greatly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 5th at 11 am in Prince of Peace- Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Steelton Pa. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am at Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Harrisburg St. Oberlin PA.
