With profound sadness and heartbreak, we announce the passing of Christian Damien Brixius, 14, who tragically passed away on September 17, 2024. Born on December 21, 2009, in Alexandria, VA, Christian was a bright and kind-hearted young man whose memory will continue to ripple through the lives he touched.
Christian was a talented athlete who found joy on the basketball court and soccer field. His love for sports was evident from a young age, with countless hours spent practicing, playing with friends, and cheering for his favorite teams. Whether he was working out with the high school team or watching NBA games on TV, Christian’s enthusiasm for the game of basketball was infectious. He was also a dedicated soccer player, known for his speed, agility, and teamwork. He loved the camaraderie he shared with his teammates and the thrill of competition.
Beyond sports, Christian had an impeccable fashion sense. He took pride in his appearance and had a natural talent for putting together outfits that reflected his unique personality. Whether it was sneakers, tees, or hoodies, Christian had an eye for design that set him apart. His style was not just a way to look good but a form of self-expression that radiated a sense of fun.
Christian was just beginning to explore the boundaries of his life, learning where he fit and discovering how he could shape the world around him. He did this through small, deliberate acts: a precise pass in soccer, an outfit that turned heads, a quiet moment of kindness to a friend who needed it. Those closest to him knew him as a loving and compassionate person who cared deeply for his family and friends. Though Christian’s time with us was far too short, the love he shared and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
Christian is survived by his loving parents Tory (DeMarco) and Andrew Brixius; his beloved siblings Zachary, Luke, and Ryan; his grandparents Anne Marie and John Brixius and Michael and Jo DeMarco; his aunts and uncles Mark, Amy, David, Ashley, and Daniel Brixius and Peter and Emily DeMarco; his cousins Cayden, Molly, Emily, Alexandria, Gabriella, and (another) Molly; and friends. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
