Christine Miller

Christine Miller passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the age of 96. She was born on March 11, 1925 in Steelton, Pennsylvania and was a 1943 graduate of Steelton High School. Christine was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Steelton. Like many of her generation, Christine contributed to the war effort by working at the Olmsted Air Force Base. Later Christine was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She was particularly proud of her part in organizing the AFSCME union and for years served as president of her local. She maintained a life long interest in politics.

Christine’s greatest joy was her family. She loved gatherings with family and friends. Christine was preceded in death by her husband, John Robinson, her husband, Charles Miller, and her daughter, Jackie Behrendt.
She is survived by her daughter JoAnn Szczepkowski and her husband Don, her son John Robinson and his wife Betsy, her daughter Mayzie Slatt and her husband Dan, her son-in-law Tom Behrendt and his wife Debbie, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was very fortunate to have the love of her extended family, Margaret Rogers, Charles Miller and his wife Diane, Mitch Miller and his wife Linda, Tom Miller and his wife Kerstein, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, Al and Kien Ferguson and 1 grandchild.

There will be a private graveside service at the family’s convenience. A memorial service and celebration of Christine’s life will be held in the summer. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
