Cleo L. Sallinger Gabel, 83, of Enhaut, died Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Twp.
She was a retired employee of AMP, Inc., a former employee of Dauphin County Courthouse, and member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Lillie Funk Sallinger and the widow of Robert E. Gabel. She is survived by one son, Scott Gabel, at home; sister, Frances M. Rajk, Indianapolis, IN; three nieces, Cathy D. Zupanovic and Cleo L. Owens, both of Lower Swatara Twp., and Chivonne C. Kelly, Indianapolis, IN; four nephews, Joseph "Rock" Sypniewski, Steelton, Albert J. Deibler, Nokomis, FL, Joseph M. Sallinger, Steelton, and Michael W. Rajk, Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Gina Gabel and Briana Gingrich; numerous great nieces and nephews; and three goddaughters, Cleo "Kiki" Owens, Sherry Belton-Saxton and Alesha Heil. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Sypniewski, Freeda Deibler and Constantine J. Salinger; and brother, Mark P. Sallinger and a half brother, Bernard Mircheff.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S. Second St., Steelton with Rev. Jonathan P. Sawicki, her Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. There will be no viewing or visitation.
