Cynthia Smith, well known as Cynt was born May 07, 1958, in Harrisburg, PA, daughter of Shirley M. Stevenson and Paul D Smith.
On February 16, 2021, at Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, PA, Cynthia Smith departed life on earth. Cynthia joined in external life her mother Shirley M. Stevenson, father Paul D Smith, sister Malvena Porter, stepsister Katherine Kathy Williams, and stepbrother George Chuckie Stevenson. Cynthia leaves behind many memories to her children Demetrius Smith Sr and Reginald Smith, both of Harrisburg, PA; grandson Demetrius Smith Jr, of Steelton, Pa; two nephews and her great-niece whom she raised as her own, Montrell Smith, Robert Smith, and Robriya Smith, all of Harrisburg, Pa; sisters and brothers Anita Smith and Rhonda and David Hollman, both of Harrisburg, Pa; Nikki Thompson of North Carolina; Franklin and Velma Smith of Harrisburg Pa and Paul and Katherine Smith of North Carolina. Cynthia leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and Godchildren whom she loved and raised as her own.
Cynthia retired from Homeland Nursing Center after 25 years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant and, more recently, Supervisor of housekeeping. Cynthia most recently worked as a Home caregiver taking care of her sister. Cynt was a die-hard Washington Redskins football fan and enjoyed watching Sunday football with her family and friends. Cynthia loved children and raised many children in her family and other families. Cynthia was the auntie everyone can get a meal from and a place to lay their head.
A viewing will be held for friends on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 South Harrisburg Street, Oberlin. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Covid-19 restrictions will be in place, masks and social distancing will be enforced.
