David "Mikey" Crawford, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in his home.
Mikey was born in Holy Spirit Hospital on June 2, 1992, son of David M. Crawford, Sr. and Ruby J. Weiss. He was a graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School Class of 2010, where he loved and participated in the band and theater. Mikey was an avid gamer and spent many hours playing Destiny. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army serving four years of active duty, and currently a member of the Army Reserves. Mikey was an active member of the American Legion Post # 420, and also a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Steelton.
He is survived by his father, David M. Crawford, Sr. and his wife, Deneen of Enola; his mother, Ruby J. Weiss and her husband David of Steelton; one sister, Jennifer Zapata and her husband, Augustino of Harrisburg; paternal grandmother, Margaret Mayo and her husband Bruce of Steelton; three nephews, Augustino, Remington, and Julian; good friend, Christopher Williams; his ''favorite'' dog Zelda; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandmother, Mary K. Anderson and his maternal grandparents, Billy and Elsie Curry. Mikey was also preceded in death by his childhood dog "Pepper".
Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 3, 2021 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St., OBERLIN. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Current Covid-19 regulations will be enforced.
