Dennis "Denny" Heefner

Dennis C. “Denny” Heefner, 76, of Steelton, passed away at home on Friday, July 19, 2024. Born in Steelton, he was the son of the late Raymond A. Heefner, Sr. and Adeline I. (Leo) Heefner.

Denny was a lifelong Steeltonian and he was very proud of his hometown. He graduated in 1965 from Steelton-Highspire High School. He served on Steelton Borough Council for over 10 years, where he was the Chairperson of the Public Works Committee. He was also a volunteer with the Steelton Fire Department for several years.

Denny worked as a Journeyman for IBEW Local 143. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War Era.

Denny is survived by his son Dennis C. Heefner, Jr. and his wife Christina of Oviedo, FL; his grandchildren Tyler, Anthony, and Alexis; his brothers Ray Heefner and wife Ruthie of Swatara Township and Gary Heefner and wife Melissa of Enhaut; and his nieces Linda Whittington, Karen Corbo, and Holly Heefner.

A Memorial Service will take place at Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jonathan P. Sawicki, Officiating. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choosing.
