Donald Schiffer

Donald L. Schiffer Sr., 94, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Camp Hill Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Camp Hill PA. Donald was the son of the late Edwin and Ruth (Law) Schiffer. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Marion Louise (Smith) Schiffer who died in 1997. Also brothers Edwin and Richard Schiffer.

Donald joined the United States Army and was a Korean Combat Veteran of the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge.

He retired after 52 years as a Plumber and Pipefitter for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 520 of Harrisburg. He worked for numerous contractors over the years such as E.J. Shell, McClure, Houck and Eshenaur''s. In his off time he loved working with stain glass and made numerous projects over the years.

He is survived by a son Donald L. Schiffer Jr. (Barbara) of Enola, a daughter Lori Lynn Schiffer of Mechanicsburg. A brother William Schiffer (Jenny) of Lewisberry, Sisters Dorothy Minges (George) of Harrisburg, and Ruth "BO" Steenland of New Cumberland. He also has numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at the convienence of the family. Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 357 South Harrisburg Street Oberlin PA. 17113. is handling the arrangements. Burial with Military Honors will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Lower Paxton Twp.
