Edward F. Chambers, 85, of Elizabethtown and formerly of Steelton, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
He was the owner and operator of Ed Chambers Excavating Co., Inc. and member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Elizabethtown, the Operating Engineers Local 542, and St. Lawrence Lodge No. 13 Croatian Fraternal Union.
Ed was the son of the late Joseph and Mabel Welch Chambers and is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol R. Kostelac Chambers; two daughters, Lethea Myers and husband, Brian of Elizabethtown and Shawn Hildabrand and husband, Karl of Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Bernadette Ward of Swatara Twp. and Frances Pugh of ShermansDale; five grandchildren, Jennifer Morrison and husband, Michael,
Amber Hoover, Andrew Galas, and Erin and Erica Chambers; three great grandchildren, Branson Kover, Dylan Luttrell, and Cecilia. He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark E. and William E. Chambers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 12 Noon in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S. Second St., Steelton with Rev. Jonathan P. Sawicki as Celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin.
