Edward "Eddie" Gassert, Ii

Edward James “Eddie” Gassert, II, 66, of Highspire, died at home surrounded by family on Tuesday July 9, 2024. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Edward James and Anna “Claire” (Doyle) Gassert. He was the loving husband of Joanne (Kamplin) Gassert, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage.

Eddie loved a good party and would often have people at his house for a get-together. He was witty with a joke and always had the best come backs! He loved playing cards- especially Pinochle and Poker. In his younger years, he was a member at local Steelton Clubs including Saint Al’s, the Dutch Club and the St. Lawrence Club.

In addition to his wife, Eddie is survived by his children Joe Gassert and his wife Melissa, Kristen Gassert, and Lauren Gassert; his grandchildren Tyquan Gassert, Destiney Gassert, Kayleigh Pressley, Amarie Pressley, Kayonna Gassert, and Issabela Gassert; his sister Brenda Elofsky; and brother Lee Spalding; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother David Gassert. There are also many friends and extended family members waiting to greet him on the other side.

A Viewing will take place on Wednesday July 17, 2024 at Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113, from 3:00-4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services at the address above.
