Edward J. Siegfried, Sr., 85, of Harrisburg, PA, entered God's Kingdom on August 17, 2023. He was born on September 9th, 1937, preceded in death by parents, William F. Siegfried, Sr., and Elizabeth Rollason Siegfried Keim; brothers, William Siegfried, Jr., Walter Siegfried, and Eugene Siegfried; and sisters, Laura Lingle, Elizabeth Settino, Elaine Ortenzio, and Alice Page. To honor his life as a good and faithful servant of Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior, a public Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
A devoted husband, caring father, loving grandfather, and kindhearted friend, Edward - lovingly called "Epp" or "Ed" - is survived by his wife, Minnie Siegfried; son, Edward J. Siegfried, Jr. and wife, Lisa Siegfried of Mechanicsburg; daughter, Melissa Heefner and husband, Gary Heefner of Steelton; granddaughter, Taylor Siegfried of Mechanicsburg; step-granddaughter, Holly Heefner of Harrisburg; sister-in-law, Loretta Siegfried of Harrisburg; and numerous nephews and nieces.
As an accomplished business owner in the construction industry, Edward made a name for himself as a trustworthy and honest businessman. Not afraid to get his hands dirty, he enjoyed any day spent in the backhoe. Recently having celebrated their 60th anniversary, Epp and Minnie worked hard as local business owners to provide for their family. The two were members of Harrisburg First Assembly of God and then later Christian Life Assembly of God. When he wasn't in his backhoe, having a fire in the burn pile behind his farm, or going on hunting adventures and beach trips, Edward was with his friends and family. Many will remember going to visit Epp and Minnie at their farm, surrounded by good food and good company.
Private Funeral Services and Viewing will be held at the convenience of the family in Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Oberlin with Rev. Paul Wislocky, officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Middletown.
The Siegfried Family wants to specifically thank the team at Homeland Center for their care and hospitality.
