Elizabeth Szobocsan

Elizabeth M. Szobocsan, 90, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Steelton, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Bridges at Bent Creek Assisted Living Facility. Born on March 13, 1934 in Steelton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Vajda) Szobocsan.

Elizabeth was an active member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish where she servedon various volunteer committees. She worked for the Facilities Services Division of AMP Inc. until her retirement.

Elizabeth is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews; as well as her sister-in-law Phyllis Szobocsan of Steelton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Joseph Szobocsan, Mary Coletti, John Szobocsan, Steve Szobocsan, Frank Szobocsan, Louis Szobocsan, and Rose Marie Szobocsan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Prince of Peace – Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Arokiaraj Amalorpava, MSSCC as celebrant. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A Viewing will be held prior to services on Monday from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM at Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S Harrisburg Street in Oberlin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish at 815 S 2nd Street, Steelton, PA 17113.
