Frances Dubesky

Frances Eva Wolf Dubesky, 90, of Swatara Township, entered into rest peacefully on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at home. Born in Salunga, PA, on May 27, 1932, she was the wife of the late George Edward Dubesky, the daughter of the late Adam and Christine (Elleck) Wolf, and the sister of the late Sandra (Wolf) Keener.

Frances moved from Salunga to Philadelphia to Enhaut, PA, and was a 1950 graduate of Swatara High (pride of our hearts!) where she authored the school poem, acted in school plays, was a cheerleader (give 'em the axe!), and played basketball and field hockey.

Frances worked at The Commonwealth National Bank in Harrisburg, PA; she retired from Professional Advisory Corporation after 41 years as an executive secretary. She was a confirmed member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steelton, PA, and served as the church secretary (where she made her daughters fold all of the church bulletins each week!). She was a member of Golden Agers, Lutheran Church Women, Luther League, and she volunteered as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She really enjoyed belting out the hymn "Christ Is Risen!" every Easter Sunday.

Frances enjoyed reading, used book stores, traveling, shoe shopping, giving gifts, the hair and nail salon, following sports, Share-A-Ride, hosting parties, the "gang", dancing the jitterbug, old movies, Family Feud, and laughing so hard at Laverne and Shirley with her son! She was a giving, caring, loving, fun, gentle Mom and Gram who was loved immensely by her family. Gram supported each of her grandchildren by attending their wrestling matches, basketball, football, and baseball games, cheerleading, concerts and musicales, drum corps competitions, dance competitions, taking them to movies, Toys-R-Us, on walks, and playing with them in the basement.

Frances is survived by a son, Michael (Kelly) Dubesky of Oberlin; two daughters Debra (Steve) Avery of Lower Paxton Township and Cindy (Gordon) Edgerton of Charlotte, MI; one brother, Robert Wolf of Chaska, MN; five grandchildren Stephen Avery, Patrick Avery, Michael (Victoria) Dubesky, Cody (Erin) Edgerton, McKenzie (Jake Nave, fiance) Edgerton; one great-grandchild Brayden Dubesky; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to express gratitude to Pat, Frances' caregiver.
