Franklin P. Ryan, Ph.D., died June 24, 2021, at the age of 84, after a struggle with cancer, in Carolyn''s House of Hospice of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ryan was a graduate of American University (Undergraduate), Bloomsburg University (Master''s Degree) and The Pennsylvania State University (Doctorate). He spent his professional career in a variety of settings including teaching at the University of Vermont Medical School, Chief Psychologist at the Department of Corrections, and years of private practice. He retired in 2015.
Frank was preceded in death by his son, Timothy H. Ryan and is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Camp Hill; his former wife Catherine Pagano of Daytona Beach, Florida; his daughter Mackenzie (Steve) of Camp Hill; two sons Jason Kriner (Tammy) of Muncy, Matthew Kriner (Kristin) of Carlisle; grandchildren, Rebecca, Jack, Declan, Brooklyn, Eva and Osbourne.
Frank enjoyed his retirement traveling, doing crossword puzzles and eating out with loved friends Todd and Carla Klinger and Richard Holodick. His favorite times were spent with his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Frank''s life will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 357 South Harrisburg Street, Oberlin. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 am - 11:00 am in the funeral home.
