Gregg Smith

Gregg A. Smith, age 65, of Chambers Hill, formerly of Steelton passed away on February 22nd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert B Smith and Ann Smith (nee: Gregonis). Surviving are sons Austin Smith at home, and Travis Smith of Dallas TX. 5 siblings, Patricia Slabonik (William) of Elizabethtown, Brian Smith (Diane Longo) of Dagsboro DE, Gary Smith (Trudy Ralph) of Swatara Township, Robert Smith (Arlene Chapman) of Highspire and Edward Smith (Marie Murphy) of Lewisberry PA. In addition he was blessed with a gaggle of nieces and nephews.

Gregg was a 1977 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, and a skilled Industrial Welder. He retired from Mack Trucks after 37 years of service.

Gregg was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and NASCAR fan. He loved and cherished his family, and they were his greatest joy in life. His big smile brought him many friends, and he never met a stranger. He possessed the gift of gab, putting the “Greg” in gregarious! He is probably telling stories to the angels right now.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hershey Medical Center ICU for the exceptional care they provided, during his stay in December.

The family will hold a memorial luncheon for Gregg on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Saint Lawrence Lodge, 13 Highland St., Steelton. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.
