Irvin Leon Gumpher, 77, of Steelton, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late John and Doris (Hartzel) Gumpher. He was the loving husband of Janice L. (Hall) Gumpher, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.
Irvin was an active member of Victory Community Fishing Creek Valley Church in Fishing Creek. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle or traveling in his RV, being on the beach, and going to the gym. Most of all he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spent much of his time with them.
In addition to his wife, Irvin is survived by his children Michael E. Williams and wife Wendy, and Michele M. Williams; grandchildren Alissa B. Williams and husband Todd S. Henderson, Jr., and Brooke L. Troutman; great-grandchildren Olivia S. Williams, Harper G. Williams, Beau W. Rider, Nova G. Rider, and Jaxon A. Rider; brother-in-law Robert Mlynek and sister-in-law Debbie Gumpher; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Aaron A. Troutman; brother Boyd F. Gumpher; and sister Nancy L. Mlynek.
A Graveside service will take place on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, with Rev. Samuel Willis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. at 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113.
