Jacqueline R. Cassatt entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 17, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 7, 1939 to Stephen and Johanna (Krasevic) Barber. Although she spent most of her adult life living in Middletown, her heart always resided in her childhood home on the West Side of Steelton.
Jackie was the widow of James Cassatt, Sr. and mother to three children, James Cassatt, Jr. (Kathy) of Middletown, Michael Cassatt (Timothy) of Harrisburg, and Lori Henry (Bob), also of Middletown. She is survived by her children, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death of brother, Anthony Barber.
She retired from DMF Dental Lab and was an avid sports fan with a passion for Notre Dame football. She also thoroughly enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton, the Middletown Moose and the Forty and Eight Club. Jackie thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and looked forward to each visit and she also enjoyed her daily ritual of visiting with friends at McDonalds each morning.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin with Rev. Jonathan P. Sawicki officiating. Burial Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 am in the funeral home.
