James Manerie

James R. Manerie, 89, of New Boston, formerly of Palmyra, passed away at home on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Francis Aloysius and Margaret Mary (O''Holleran) Manerie. He was the loving husband of the late Delores (Bittenger) Manerie, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage until her passing in April of 2018.
James served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Most Blessed Sarament Catholic Church and was known for running the Seisholtzville Old Fashioned Hayrides. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be very much missed.
James is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Selley (husband, Shaun) of New Boston and Elizabeth Bailey-Ahner (husband, Todd) of New Tripoli; his grandchildren Jefferson, Amanda Ronchi (husband, Gabe), Brooke, and Daniel; 3 great-grandchildren; his brother David Manerie (wife, Pam); and his sister Patricia Schaeffer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Mary Spencer, Frances Mahony, and Margaret Taljan.
A Funeral Service will take place at Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113 on Thursday, October 26 at 3:00 PM. Friends and Family will be received one hour prior from 2:00-3:00 PM. Private Burial will take place at Most Blessed Sacrament, Bally PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
