James Vincent Santanna, Jr.

James Vincent Santanna, Jr., 90, passed away at home on Sunday, March 16, surrounded by his family. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on September 28, 1934 to the late James and Helen Santanna, James was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Martha M. Santanna, and sister Louise Santanna Chambers.

James was a graduate of John Harris High School and served in the United States Navy where he was stationed in Antarctica with Operation Deep Freeze. Upon returning home to Harrisburg, James joined his father at their family-owned restaurant, Santanna’s Seafood House and was sole proprietor of the restaurant for over 35 years.

James is survived by his son James V. Santanna, III, and wife Karen of Mechanicsburg; his daughter Lori Santanna Patchin and husband Harry V. Patchin also of Mechanicsburg; and daughter Bonnie Lynn Santanna of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Michael James Patchin, Antonia Rae Santanna and H. Alexander Patchin, as well as sister Donna Santanna Frye and many nieces and nephews.

As a proud member of the Cathedral Parish of Saint Patrick, Harrisburg, James requested a Private Mass of Christian Burial. His internment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery and held at the discretion of the immediate family. Arrangements are under the care of Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Oberlin.
