Jennie Ward

Jennie Lee Ward, 83, of Steelton, passed away at The Middletown Home, where she peacefully entered into eternal life.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Mary E. Ward, who she cared for until their demise. Jennie is survived by several cousins, Helen Schindler, Janet Hill, Nancy Trievel, Earl Frady, Jr., Brian Frady, Lee Baer-Shull and Peggy Sostar.

After Jennie''s parents passed, she spent a number of years babysitting - how she loved the little ones! Not a visit went by that she didn''t ask, "How are my babies - meaning Addy and Grayson Sostar - undoubtedly her favorites. She also spent several happy years volunteering at two local nursing/assisted living facilities with her cousin Peggy.

Jennie (Sis to most of us) enjoyed shopping, talking on the phone, and doing crossword puzzles with her "cousin" Joyce. Her days were filled with reading, word games, crafts, biographies, angel collecting and watching her favorite TV shows.

She was a woman of faith. Her kindness, thoughtfulness and polite ways will be remembered by all who knew her.

We, the family, would like to especially thank all the Hospice workers and staff in Wing "C" who cared for her. She received excellent care with utmost respect. As she would tell them, "Everything is A-OK!"

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin with Rev. Kevin Richardson, officiating. Burial will be in Baldwin Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the funeral home.
