It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Kathryn Ann O''Brien, who left us on October 9, 2023. She was born on June 27, 1946, and throughout her 77 years, she touched the lives of those around her with grace, kindness, and unconditional love.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Edward P. and Mary Ann Campbell, husband Joseph P. O''Brien, and brother Edward P. Campbell Jr. She is survived by one son, Joseph P. O''Brien, Jr., and his wife, Kathy of Mechanicsburg; one daughter, Katie Linebarger and her husband, Guy of Mt. Joy; and five grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Ryann and Guy Linebarger and Patrick O''Brien and brother, Robert Campbell and multiple nieces and nephews.
Kathryn''s life work was spent as an operating room nurse at Harrisburg Hospital. She dedicated her life to helping others and was known by her colleagues as wonder woman.
When she wasn''t at work, she loved traveling. Her adventures lead her around the world with her friends.
Kathryn was the staple of strength for her family, a devoted wife to her late husband, and a loving mother to all her children.
Kathryn was a phenomenal grandmother who showered her grandchildren with affection and wisdom. Her warm smile and gentle spirit lit up every room she entered, making all who knew her feel truly cherished.
Kathryn''s life was a testament to resilience, as she faced life''s challenges with unwavering determination and spirit.
Kathryn''s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Memorial Service will be held at Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113 on Wednesday, October 18 at 12:00 PM. Friends and family will be received at the Funeral Home one hour prior at 11:00 AM. Committal will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
