Kirk A. Loser Jr., 98, of Harrisburg, passed away on Saturday October 9, 2021, in Ecumenical Retirement Community.
Born in Harrisburg on June 11, 1923, he was the son of the late Kirk Sr. and Mary (Pipes) Loser. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in the Pacific on the hospital ship USS Tranquility (AH-14) during World War II. Kirk worked for many years with Miller''s Furniture, retiring as comptroller for Kinney Shoes. He was a faithful member and leader at the former Epworth Methodist Church on Derry Street in Harrisburg. After Epworth closed, Kirk and Marian joined Centenary United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Marian L. (Fickes) Loser who passed away on March 6, 2015.
Kirk is survived by his son Jeffrey Loser and wife Lois and their son Chris; also by his daughter Janis Fletcher and husband Michael. His younger daughter Cynthia Russell is deceased; she and her husband David have two daughters, Shannon and Jennifer. Shannon and her husband Michael have two children, Madison and Dylan.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 South Harrisburg St., Oberlin, with the Rev. Dr. Lori Betsworth, officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be held in Highspire Cemetery, immediately following the service.
