Larry Joseph Long

Larry Joseph Long, 81, of Highspire, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. Born on December 29, 1943, he was the son of the late Miriam Long. He was the devoted partner of Kathy Smeltzer, with whom he shared 51 years.

Larry served his country in the US Army for 5 years, during which he served multiple tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Highspire VFW. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, fishing, and playing online games. Mostly he was a loving partner, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all.

In addition to Kathy, Larry is survived by his daughter Pamela Long and her partner Shawn; stepdaughters Debra Henninger and Dawn Wenrich; and grandson Kyle Long; as well as a large extended family.
