Lee E. Ganoe, 84, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Marysville, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in County Meadows-West Shore.
He was a graduate of William Penn High School Class of 1956, a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer serving in the Cuban Crisis and the Vietnam War. He was a retired Police Officer for Upper Allen Twp. Police Department and a member of the US Navy Fleet Reserve, US Navy Memorial Foundation, Retired Enlisted Assn., American Legion Post 945, Wormleysburg, Fraternal Order of Police Tri- County Lodge #76, Law Enforcement Alliance of America, International Assn. of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, Life Endowment member of National Rifle Assn., and a member of Lowther Manor Lodge No. 781 FandAM, Lewisberry, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Zembo Temple AAONMS Police Unit, Mechanicsburg Club, Rye Twp. Lions Club and a former Supervisor in Rye Twp., Perry Co.
Lee was the son of the late Lee F. Ganoe, Sr. and M. Irene McAffee Ganoe and the widower of Patricia A. Heiges Ganoe. He is survived by one son, Robert Lee Ganoe and wife,Yvette of Dallastown; three daughters, Lisa Irene Casey of Enola, Sherri Lynn Evans and husband, Jim of Marysville, and Tracie Jo Rodkey and husband, Michael Fluke of Mechanicsburg; seven grandsons and one granddaughter and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 South Harrisburg St., Oberlin with Rev. Dale Parker, his nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the funeral home.
