Lewis Thomas Bucher, 75, of Lower Paxton Twp., died Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in his home.
He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the PA National Guard, a retired Special Education teacher for the Harrisburg School District, and participated in the Adult Basic Education for Special Needs. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church, Susquehanna Twp. and was a volunteer for many years at the St. Ann's Spaghetti Dinners.
Lew was the son of the late Lewis J. and Vivian G. Moore Bucher and is survived by his loving wife of almost 52 years, Judy M. Crist Bucher; four daughters, Kelly B. Gerard, Jessica A. Danner, Beth E. Bucher (Patrick Killeen), and Alaina G. Canning (husband, Patrick); two brothers, Paul and Patrick Bucher; two sisters, Susan Schaffer and Franceen Wilson; and 11 Grandchildren, Kyle Bekelja and wife, Kelly, Ethan Danner and fiancee, Kristin, Noah Gerard, Evan Gerard, Myah Danner, Owen Danner, Addi Danner, Britton Canning, Lucia Canning, Vienna Canning, and Finn Killeen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 12 Noon in St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Leo M. Goodman, his Pastor and Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt, as concelebrants. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 am to 12 Noon in his church.
