Dr. Linda A. Kauffman Wolf, 78, of Cape May, NJ, died Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Kauffman. She grew up in Conestoga, PA and attended Lancaster Catholic Schools.
Linda is survived by her son, Matthew and his wife Michelle, Matthew''s father, Dr. James F. Wolf, her grandchildren Nicholas, Michael, and Sophia, all of Washington, DC, her godmother and best friend, Dr. Beverly Yanich, of Cape May, NJ and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in the Lancaster and Harrisburg areas.. Her two canine companions were Niki and Betsy.
Linda graduated cum laude from Immaculata University and earned graduate degrees from the University of Connecticut and the University of Southern California where she also earned a Doctorate in Public Administration.
Linda was a member of the faculty at Virginia Tech and held various teaching assignments at the University of Delaware, the University of Connecticut and the University of Southern California. She was nationally recognized for her leadership at the American Public Human Services Association in the areas of welfare reform, housing, adolescent pregnancy prevention and immigration and refugee resettlement. She founded and operated her own management consulting and executive coaching firm.
Linda was a popular lecturer and guest speaker in social policy circles and was called on to testify before Congress and to address national social services and governmental affairs organizations.
Linda was a steward of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church where she was a member of the Seniors Group, the Circle of Serbian Sisters and SERB Club.
Linda''s commitment to hospitality was unsurpassed and she enthusiastically hosted family, friends, and even strangers. She enjoyed cooking and, by her own admission, was undaunted by large, hungry crowds or complex recipes with fou-fou ingredients. She was an unsung poet, an avid mystery reader, a sometime beachcomber and an always valued friend.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 12 Noon in St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, Oberlin, with the Rev. Christopher Rocknage, her Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 11:00 am until 12 Noon in her church. The family requests that attendees wear a face covering and are expected to have received the full compliment of COVID vaccines.
Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin.
