Rev. Luz De Ada Rodriguez, 76, of Harrisburg, formerly of Lancaster, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Born in San German, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Cesareo Ramos Montalvo and Hipolita Pagan. She was the wife of the late Juan E. Rodriguez. She was a native of Lancaster. Ada was a member of The First Spanish Assembly of God Church until moving to Harrisburg in 1996.
In 1991, she founded Luz Y Esperanza Church. Ada served in various ways within the church and community. She helped to feed and clothe the homeless. She preached in the streets and spread a message of love and salvation. She had much concern for others, and devoted a lot of time helping others. Ada loved traveling to many different places. She went on missionary trips to Mexico and Dominican Republic.
In her spare time, she would spend time with her pets, Brownie and Ruby.
She also tended to her garden, and she would plant new flowers every week. Her favorite being roses. She also wrote songs and would add her own tunes.
Ada''s greatest accomplishment was being a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to many. She loved her family unconditionally and she was the backbone that kept her family together after her husband went to be with the Lord.
Ada is also survived by two sons, Juan E. Rodriguez, and Juan E. Rodriguez, husband of Chianti Mansfield; three daughters, Maribel, wife of Luis Leger, Claribel, wife of Greg Perez, and Luz, wife of Rafael Martinez; 18 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Ada is also survived by two brothers Cesareo Ramos, and Luis Ramos and a sister Maria Martinez. She was preceded in death by a brother, Angel Luis, a sister Milagros and a great great grandson Major.
Ada was a sweet, kind and gentle woman who was loved by all.
Viewings will be held on Wednesday June 23, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Fountain Gate Church, 1419 Derry St. Harrisburg, and on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 am in Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, 2124 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster PA 17602. Burial and graveside services will follow in Millinger''s Mennonite Cemetery,1918 Lincoln Hwy E. Lancaster PA 17602.
