Magdalene Tina M. (Komishock) Sviben of Hershey, PA, age 83, passed away on June 17, 2021 at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center after enduring a battle with Parkinson''s disease. Tina was born in Lebanon, PA and later moved to Hershey, PA. She retired from H.B. Reese Candy Co.
She was a devoted mother, an excellent seamstress and baker of her phenomenal Christmas cookies, and an avid bingo player (even on Zoom with the family during COVID!). Tina enjoyed playing cards with family and poker with friends as well as going to the casino, but she especially loved being around her grandsons. She loved watching them play their various sports while they were growing up and rarely missed a game.
She was a loving wife of 48 years to Lawrence J. Sviben. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Anna (Murman) Komishock, her sister, Dolores Hanincik, and her son, Michael D. Fossati. She is survived by three sisters, Elizabeth Henniger of Ohio, Anna Marie Springborn of Lebanon, and Cora Krouse (Ronald) of Upper Lehigh, Freeland, PA, as well as a sister-in-law, Anna J. Sviben of Steelton. She is also survived by a step-daughter, Lisa M. Sviben Miller (Phil) of Palmyra, grandsons Philip-John (PJ) L. Miller (Megan) of Palmyra, and Zachary C. Miller (Emma) of Lewisberry, a great-grandson, Cooper Lawrence Miller of Palmyra, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 12:00 Noon at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, 300 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Anthony Dill, Pastor, Celebrant. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM in the church. Burial will be at the Hershey Cemetery following Mass. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Oberlin.
