Margaret "Maggie" Deitz of Harrisburg, PA died peacefully in her home on Sunday, February 16, 2025, following a harrowing battle with chronic illness.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Mary Fairlamb, sisters: Jennifer Trostle and Katherine Potami, brother: Joseph Fairlamb, nephew: Andrew Fairlamb, and neice: Jackie Radomski. She is survived by her husband: Donald Deitz, daughters: Dominique Deitz and April Deitz of Harrisburg, Brother: Robert Fairlamb Jr. of Paxinos, beagle: Hank Williams Jr. of Harrisburg, and 17 nieces and nephews all over the country.
Maggie was born on October 24, 1962 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Destin, FL before her and her family moved back here and settled in Steelton.
Maggie graduated from Steelton-Highspire High school in 1981, and found her calling as a server for the Eat'n Park Hospitality group where she touched many lives and made many lifelong friends. She was an avid gardener, reader, beach go-er (and tanner), a fantastic cook, and she loved arts and crafts. She used her skills in arts and crafts to raise money for the Four Diamonds Fund for years, organizing numerous charitable events for them. She was also a very proud mother, and found great joy in her daughters accomplishments.
Maggie will be remembered for her generosity, nerve, and kindness. As well as the courage with which she faced every day.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 357 South Harrisburg Street, Oberlin. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the Deitz Family Residence.
